DOGSTHORPE, ancientIy called Dodsthorpe, was formerly a hamlet of St. John the Baptist, Peterborough, 2 miles north-east therefrom a small portion of the hamlet is incorporated in the borough. There is a Mission Hall at Garton end, erected in 1893, and now used as a Sunday school. Here are Primitive Methodist and Wesleyan chapels. The school room is used as a Church Mission Hall; services are held at 7 p.m. fortnightly in the winter. The land is chiefly arable. The area is 2,130 acres
